The short version: we collect only what we need to ship your order and improve the site, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are
Being Foodies (“we”, “us”) is a small Indian pantry e-commerce brand based in Pune, Maharashtra. You can reach our team at hello@beingfoodies.com.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the storefront:
- Order data — name, delivery address, phone, email, items purchased, amount paid
- Account data — if you sign up (currently optional), we store your email and hashed password
- Usage data — anonymous traffic metrics (page views, referrers, device class) via privacy-respecting analytics
- Cookies — a cart cookie so your basket persists between visits; an analytics cookie if you accept it
What we don't collect
- Your payment card numbers — those go straight to our PCI-compliant payment partner
- Sensitive personal data (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
- Location data beyond what's needed to ship to you
How we use your data
- To fulfil and ship your order, and to email order updates
- To respond to your messages and support requests
- To send the optional newsletter — only if you signed up, and you can unsubscribe with one click
- To improve the website (which pages work, which break)
- To comply with Indian e-commerce and tax law
Who we share it with
A short list of trusted partners — each only sees the slice they need:
- Payment processors — to charge your card / UPI securely
- Shipping partners — to deliver your parcel
- Email & SMS providers — to send order confirmations and tracking links
We never sell or rent your data to third parties. We disclose data only when required by law or to protect our rights.
Your rights
You can ask us, anytime, to:
- See a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your account and order history
- Stop receiving newsletters or marketing messages

How long we keep data
Order records are retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax regulations. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Anonymous analytics data is retained for 26 months.
Security
We serve our storefront over HTTPS in production, use secure hosting for order data, and apply least-privilege access for our team. No system is bullet-proof, but we treat your data the way we'd want our own treated.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change. Significant changes will be announced by email to existing customers.
